Microsoft PC obsolescence strategy – AKA Windows 11

Microsoft will not allow millions of perfectly useable PCs to be upgraded to Windows 11. Support for Windows 10 ends in 3 years time. A disgraceful example of forced obsolescence?

UK charities can be checked on the charity commission pages. But I get overseas appeals e.g. indigenous Amazon dwellers fighting for survival . How do I check authenticity? Which? Charity list please

Food wasted in odd shaped jars.

Food jars come in many shapes and designs. A fancy design can make it difficult to remove all of the contents, resulting in waste. Wherever possible I buy straight-sided jars.

Smoke Alarms

There is new legislation in Scotland regarding Smoke Alarms.
(interconnected, non-replaceable batteries, specific heat alarm for the kitchen).
A Which review is urgently needed (at least for Scotland)

Reporting email scams to report@phishing.gov.uk

I occasionally get scam/spam fraud emails but can’t report them by forwarding to report@phishing.gov.uk as recommended.
My email program refuses to send them – because it detects they are spam!

I received an email from Polly Gallagher allegedly from pltformconnectioms.com (sic) trying to make me believe she is form Tesco offering a £1000 Tesco gift card as an apology for previous bad service

Legal Advice: unsatisfactory service from water companies.

The webpages say legal advice on poor service can be given But when I asked for some I was told: gas & electric ‘Yes’ because supplier is my choice. Water no, because I can’t choose. Why different?
