How can we trust advice on products that have a bribe for those recommending them (whether or not they are paid an up-front fee) attached unless it is passed on to the consumer?

Hi allotmentor, thanks for sharing your idea. I just want to point out, however, that all of our mortgage advisers are paid a salary for providing impartial advice. As they don’t receive commission, they will only recommend a mortgage that they think is right for the consumer.

Are there any socially responsible companies?

There’s a strong belief that companies are motivated purely by greed, but is this always true? Do some companies have a strong public service ethos? Or are they all motivated purely by Money?

We can see many other countries taking on gigabit internet speeds and many in Europe – I feel more should be done to bring us up to the mark and make our country one of the best for internet speeds.

Can anyone help me with cheap phone calls to Australia. I used a contact at 1p per minute plus BT extra, which was 1p and last July went up to 11p per minute. 12p per minute makes it expensive.

Withdrawal of Skype TV app – Skype has announced it is withdrawing support for its app, carried on many Smart TVs, from June 2016. Samsung have already confirmed the app will removed from their Smart Hub in June 2016; other manufacturers will likely follow.

Many SmartTV viewers maintain contact with family using this app; its loss will affect them severely. Can Which do anything to prevent this?

Which energy comparison site

The site has an inbuilt fault. It uses your current suppliers standard rate, normally the highest, to compare with the the lowest rate available and this will always favour switching even if this might not be in the consumers best interests.

On-line banking.
Make banks cross check payee name. They do not do this which allows fraud to take place. They only check account number & sort code. With cheques the account name is cross checked!

There should be a national database for lost property.

Currently there is little to no hope of having lost property returned. There are too many places to hand it in and if you do, you never know if the owner will go to the right place to find it.
