Virgin Atlantic plane

Virgin will soon be flying from Heathrow to Edinburgh six times a day. With some flights available for nearly half the price of train tickets, I may be tempted to book next time I head home north of the border… (more about Virgin domestic flights...)

A full suitcase being squashed

It seems like every airline has a different allowance for hand luggage, leading to lots of confusion and surprises at the departure gate. Do you think airline hand luggage allowances are clear enough? (more about hand luggage allowances...)

Bus on road

A baby in a toy plane

With airfares always on the up, it was an enormous relief to know that my 10 month old daughter would fly for free when we took her to the States this Christmas. But sadly, that was where the good news ended... (more about plane seats for babies...)

British & Irish Lions rugby team playing against Australia

Why do I have to pay thousands to see the British & Irish Lions play when the Aussies pay £61 (AU$95) for a test match ticket? Shouldn’t we be able to buy tickets at face-value prices? (more about rubgy tickets...)

Plane with vapour trail spelling out 'sale'

Once the Christmas spending splurge is over, the last thing I want to do is to buy another big ticket item like a holiday. But travel companies want us to start buying holidays as soon as Santa’s finished his rounds. (more about New Year holiday offers...)

Taxi cartoon next to plane

I once landed at Mexico City airport and was comprehensively ripped off by a taxi driver. Disorientated after a long flight, we ended up paying ten times the going rate for the journey from the airport to the city centre. (more about taxi transfer companies...)
