A chalk drawing of a car on a blackboard

Young drivers already face the mounting costs of car insurance and fuel. Having to pay for more lessons before securing a driving licence would add an extra financial burden. Would you coach a learner driver? (more about teaching young drivers...)

Shhh, don’t tell my dog! According to new research, one in 10 Brits buy their pets a holiday gift and I'm not one of them. Would you buy a holiday pressie for your pooch? (more about souvenirs for dogs...)

flat tyre

In the past, I’d have said that a tyre puncture would lead to half an hour of sweat and toil changing the wheel, followed by a trip to a tyre centre to have it repaired or replaced. On reflection, I think I was being hopeful... (more about spare wheels and punctures...)

A brightly lit fairground ride

The thought of a free day out is very tempting, especially if you get to spend the day at an attraction that usually costs more than £100 for a family of four. But that free day out can quickly become rather expensive. (more about free days out...)

Have you noticed that the number of cars on our roads with a blown or misaligned headlight has increased over the past few years? I have, and I have theory about the cause. (more about car light costs...)

An old bed outside a building

I've been to a fair few town halls in my time as a reporter, but not so many palaces. So if I booked a holiday promising me a party in a palace, I’d be annoyed if I ended up in a municipal building. (more about misleading holidays...)

Geneva Hamann Range Rover

I’ve been to enough motor shows to know that they’re more about glitz and glamour than the business of actually launching cars, but come on – this year’s Geneva Motor Show feels like a cartoon fantasy land. (more about Geneva Motor Show...)
