Book with cardboard house

From the minute I put an offer in for my flat, I knew that the 73-year lease was too short. But what I didn’t realise was that purchasing a lease can easily be done informally. Here’s why I think it’s good to talk… (more about informal leasehold purchase...)

Tesco store

Cheers, gasps of delight, and cries of ‘I can’t believe it!’ rung out across Which? HQ yesterday, as Tesco – the biggest supermarket in the UK – announced that it would be adding traffic light labelling to its food. (more about Tesco's labelling...)

Plaque engraved with the word solicitors

After a horrible experience with one solicitor, I've finally found a decent one. Do you have any tips for choosing solicitors? You could help someone avoid a nightmare like mine… (more about choosing solicitors...)

Tesco virtual store

What do you like doing in an airport? I usually spend 10 minutes perusing things I can’t afford, then settling down with a book. But Tesco’s got a new idea. It wants you to do your 'virtual' shopping before you hop on a plane. (more about airport Tesco shopping...)

Are you all enjoying the relaxation of the Sunday trading laws during the Games? Are you shopping at your leisure? Our Jen is enjoying it, but Charlotte hopes it won’t continue beyond the Olympics. (more about Sunday trading hours...)

Olympic 2012 cauldron

We’ve all heard stories about peaks in electricity demand during soap opera ad breaks, when everyone pops out to put the kettle on. But how much can demand vary? I spoke to the National Grid to find out. (more about electricity demand...)

man in supermarket

Are you a man? Are you rubbish at food shopping? A supermarket in New York has decided that you are, so it's put all the ‘man items’ in one aisle. Excuse me while I step out of my pigeonhole and on to my soapbox… (more on the 'man aisle'...)

Word 'fail' in wooden blocks

What’s the best way to deal with a Twitter complaint? You could solve it, you could ignore it, or – in the case of Three Mobile – you could label the customer a ‘spammer’ and have their means of complaint cut off. (more about customer complaints...)

Strawberries formed into punctuation

Summer’s come around, and with it lots of cheap deals on things like strawberries, mangoes, and other refreshing summer fruits. But why are supermarkets still making it tricky for us to work out which are best value? (more about summer fruits...)

Too commercial? A nice excuse to say ‘thanks’ to your Dad? Father’s Day seems more controversial than Mother’s Day, perhaps because it doesn’t have the long tradition. I’m unsure how to celebrate either of them... (more on Father's Day...)
